Wieman Land & Auction Co., Inc. is a third generation family company that was started by Earl Wieman in 1949. Earl was a farmer in the Canistota, SD area and decided to extend into the auction business. Earl and his two sons, Gary and Rich, with the help of their wives Carol and Louise have since then branched into many more areas such as the machinery consignment auctions, private machinery sales, real estate sales, and real estate and personal property appraisals. Gary and Rich handle and conduct all real estate and personal property auctions.

Gary's two sons, Kevin and Mike, and Rich's son, Ryan, have also entered into the business. Kevin and Ryan work in the office and tend to handle most of the Real Estate appraisals and some Real Estate transactions. Mike is the shop foreman at the auction building which is located one mile south of Marion on Hwy 44. Rich's son, Derek, also works at the auction lot on a part time basis when he is not attending school. Marlo Wieman, which is a cousin of Gary and Rich, has also merged his Implement business with Wieman Auction to form Wieman Machinery Auction an affiliate of Wieman Land & Auction Co., Inc.

Wieman Auction has grown over the past 50 years but one thing is still the same. We offer fair, honest, and courteous treatment to everyone. Whether it is buying or selling your home, farm, business, farm equipment, or other personal property, we are here to make that process a little bit easier. We have five full time Auctioneers, four Real Estate sales personnel, Two Real Estate Brokers, three full time clerks plus other full and part-time office and Auction support personnel.

• We hold five or six Farm Machinery Consignment Auctions a year. These Auctions consistently have from 900 to 1300 items and we tend to sell more than 93% of the items.

• We also Buy, Sell, and Trade Used Farm Equipment privately all year long. We can give appraisals on farm equipment and also can sell your used equipment on consignment basis.

• We can sell all types of Real Estate from Commercial and farm to Residential. It may be sold privately or by the Auction method.

• We are also State Registered Appraisers so we can perform a full or partial appraisal on many types of Real Estate. We can appraise from one item to a full line of Farm Equipment.
