Fladeboe-Duininck, who is a partner in her family’s business, Fladeboe Auctions, based in Minneapolis and Willmar, edged out 22 other ladies at the annual contest that was held this year in Greensboro, North Carolina. The contest is part of the National Auctioneers Association yearly conference. Fladeboe-Duininck will receive $5,000 for winning the contest and will serve as a national ambassador for the organization. Contestants are judged on their interview and bid calling skills in a preliminary and final round. Categories are presentation, chant/voice, effective auctioneering, effective interviewing and ambassadorship. “I found my professional passion when I became an auctioneer, and I look forward to representing auctioneers from across the country in this position in the coming year,” said Fladeboe-Duininck, a married mother of two. Fladeboe-Duininck specializes in selling farms by real estate auction and conducting fundraising auctions, raising money for more than 125 Minnesota nonprofits each year at benefit events. In 2009 the company raised over $4.8 million dollars for Minnesota nonprofits. “I am a farm kid who loves to put on blue jeans and sell a farm, and I also love being at black-tie gala events in downtown Minneapolis raising money for our nonprofits,” said Fladeboe- Duininck. “The auction business is a unique profession where you can bring people together to maximize competition and get top dollar for a farm or raise critical revenue to support our nonprofits.” Her father Dale started Fladeboe Auctions in 1978 in Willmar, and Fladeboe-Duininck now owns the company with her father and two siblings, Glen and Kimberly, who are all professional auctioneers.
